Concept and Functionality
The idea behind Easy Pill is really quite ingenious. How convenient would it be if you could create a steady schedule on your iPhone that guarantees you’ll remember and take your pills, as you should and without fail? That’s exactly what the app sets out to do, and for the most part, it achieves what it aims for in spades. It all starts with the pill creation tool. You simply describe what the pill is called, mention how many you take and how often, and then tie it off with the total number of days that you’ll be taking it. Then, say what time you want to take the bloody thing. You’re done! It’s that easy to setup a pill with the app, a pill that’s automatically added to your app’s schedule, and keeps everything in check. Add some more pills, and watch them appear in your dashboard, easily managed with a single click. Best of all, you can mention that you took one with only a tap. Add to this one of the slickest interfaces we’ve seen in a while, as well as cross-device syncing, and you’ve got a winning combination with Easy Pill. It’s simple, effective, and universally appreciated. Now that’s a golden formula to hit!
Design and Interface
We have to admit, Easy Pill looks pretty slick on the iPhone, too. It’s obvious that the app’s emphasis was on simplicity, and it really does show. Everything about it is as smile as clicking a few buttons, answering a drop-down menu or sliding a timer into place. We especially liked the calendar that controls the latter. All in all, we have a feeling that both geriatrics and the chronically forgetful will be able to wrangle Easy Pill into fitting form on their phone without spite. It’s really that simple (and that slick) to use.
Let’s face it: For two bucks, Easy Pill will supply you with a great interface, one heck of a lot of functionality, and maybe even a life saving reminder. If you take a lot of pills often, and want to be sure that you get all of them when you should, then we can’t help but suggest you try Easy Pill. It’s gorgeous, it’s cheap enough at only two bucks, and it’s so simple to use that even a monkey could do it. This one comes recommended!
Easy Pill requires iOS 3.1.2 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
