Chumkee: Written iPhone App Review
Are you the type of person that likes to make new friends? Pair that with humorous questions and banana points and you’ve got the Chumkee app from developer C-Vibes Ltd! It is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, and runs on iOS 4.3 or later.
The Chumkee app is a whole new take on interactive social networking. The app allows the user to make new friends and start conversations with people from over 140 countries around the world through the sharing of personal videos, photos, and posts. Users can also answer the random “Chumkee” questions that can break the ice between new social interactions, and users can also get involved in humorous challenges. Language barrier is a thing of the past with the in app translator. If the user does not want to make themselves appear super available, they can adjust their privacy settings via the app’s messaging and blocking features.
The latest version 3.0 clears up any awkwardness between the user and the new friends they meet by allowing them to answer funny and challenging questions when conversations come upon silent gaps. Also, not only can users reward their new friends with banana points for their answers, but they can also track the number of banana points they receive from others for their answers and posts, via the “Banana Meter” on their main profile. They also have the additional capability of immediately viewing their individual post captions.
Appearance and Layout:
The overall layout of Chumkee is pretty decent. It doesn’t have the best graphics, but then again the main focus of the app is on the user and their conversations and talent. The app is very simple to navigate through, and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what does what, and what the primary function of each feature is. The layout is easy on the eyes, and is the epitome of basic.
Since the Chumkee app is offered for free, it is quite a bargain. It can cater to a wide audience of all ages and backgrounds since user can interact with other users even internationally based. It may not be something that everyone would want to partake in, but with the current social networking craze and the strive for constant interactions, this app would appeal to a lot of the youth and young adult users. Plus, the added privacy settings will make the user feel a bit more secure of not having all of their life made public.
