One-Touch: iPhone App Written Review
If you own an iPhone—and we’re guessing you do based on the fact that you read our blog—then you likely perform some of the same actions over and over on your phone. This might be sending an email to a friend, a text message to your spouse, or logging away your current location. If you do these sorts of things, and wish there were a quicker way to get the job done, then you’ve come to exactly the right place! One-Touch by developer Korean Development Center makes it incredibly easy to do these sort of menial tasks without any fuss at all—even with just one touch! To view our whole review of the app, go ahead and skim on down below the break.
Concept and Functionality
As stated, the idea behind One-Touch is relatively simple: The app allows you to assign a specific function to the app. Then, when you “boot” the app up from your springboard, it performs that action. For instance, if you’re constantly turning your Bluetooth on and off to save battery power, you’ll know just how big a pain this is unless you have a Jailbroken iPhone. To save you some pain and add some grace, just tell One-Touch to do the job for you. Then, when you press the app icon, it turns Bluetooth on or off. It’s really that simple.
The app does this for a number of other features, too, including sending an SMS to a pre-set number, creating an eMail meant for a single recipient, or saving your current GPS-tagged location. All in all, it’s a nifty idea, and one that really will simplify your life if you do this sort of thing with some frequency.
Design and Interface
As much as we like the functionality that One-Touch affords us, we have to admit that we aren’t the biggest fans of its interface. That isn’t to say that it’s bad: It’s incredibly easy to use, and we had no problem setting-up the application. However, it’s very spartan. Aesthetics aren’t everything, but in today’s market having an app that looks Web 2.0 inspired and gorgeous is a big stepping stone between an amateur offering and an iPhone utility that will absolutely knock your socks off.
And at the end of the day, we can’t help but recommend One-Touch to those in need. It’s dirt cheap, clocking in at only a dollar in the App Store, and if you’re looking for a convenient way to tidy up your iPhone life, there’s really no better way to go. The interface can easily be improved in future updates, as well. So all in all, One-Touch earns a solid four stars and a full recommendation from us here at the iPhone App Review.
One-Touch requires iOS 5.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
