London 2012: iPhone Written App Review
Get in the game with the new London 2012 iPhone app from NEOWIZ Internet Corp. This awesome game lets you create three customizable athletes, compete in nine unique games, and champion your country in a global competition for Olympic victory. This game is a blast to play, and priced to move. Think you have what it takes to claim the gold? Our iPhone app review of London 2012 will reveal all.
The London 2012 iPhone app is not a score tracker, and it doesn’t contain real Olympic footage. But it is a heck of a game. You’ll compete in the 100-meter, 110-meter hurdles, triple jump, pole vault, 100-meter freestyle swim, 100m butterfly swim, kayaking, double trap skeet shooting and archery. As you play your Olympian will build skills, improve their stats, and get closer to medal-winning glory with each training game you ace, Olympic event you cream and challenge you complete.
If that wasn’t enough, the London 2012 iPhone game features a fun shop full of items that help boost your stats, a trophy room to keep track of all your wins and a rankings area where you can see how your country’s team is fairing in your very own games. London 2012 supports three unique characters, for plenty of variety, and your opponents are randomized so you never run the same race or competition twice.
There’s a lot more to this sleek style, which I like best for it’s creative way of getting gamers excited about this year’s Olympics, although I see it having a long shelf life for players.
Layout & Design:
The graphics in London 2012 are simply superb. They’re on par with what we’d expect from a game on the Nintendo Wii: colorful, rendered in three dimensions and just plain beautiful. I really like that you can customize your athletes, from their hair color to their smile. No, there aren’t as many options as you’d see in a game like The Sims, but it’s much more than I expected to find in a free title.
You like how I slid that in there? The London 2012 iPhone app is indeed absolutely free to download and play. There is an in-app store where you can buy some of the in-app currency if you want to sprint to the finish line, but there’s no reason you have to shell out the big bucks to enjoy this game. Consider me smitten. I think this title is a blast. It’s beautiful, fun, inventive and interesting. So don’t make me light an Olympic torch under your behind. Go get it now.
Also, check out the paid version of this app which comes with an additional 3,000 coins in the iTunes App Store.
London 2012 iPhone app requires iOS 4.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
