Fish With Attitude: iPhone App Written and Video Review
Here at the iPhone App Review, we know we say it a lot, but our favorite gaming genre on the iPhone is almost undeniably arcade games. We just can’t get enough of them. However, we have a close second favorite, and that’s the SIM style micromanagement genre. We like any game that starts us out small, and then has us building up to cooler items, bigger characters, and better units. As such, may we introduce you now to Fish With Attitude, by developer Crowdstar. The app brings along a whole lot of underwater fun, including a unique breeding system. So if you’re looking for a new micromanagement game, start with our full review below!
Concept and Gameplay
As stated, Fish with Attitude falls very much under the heading of growth or management arcade game for the iPhone. But what does that mean, in this specific instance? What it means is simple: You start with a single fish tank and one fish, and are then guided through the tutorial. From there, you must breed new fish in the breeding tank by pairing up your pets. Is that the end of it? Heck no! You can also tell your pets to dig up tank ornaments, collect coins from them when they’re happy, upgrade them to get more reward. and generally have loads of fun by poking at the thousand little things your fish can do. Watch them interact, give them some food, or have them complete some of the quests the game assigns to you. The possibilities are nearly endless, and with a unique game world that’s every bit as inviting as it is fun, we have quite the hunch that you’ll stick around to play with the fishes.
Graphics and Design
As much as we like the gameplay that Fish with Attitude is offering, we have to admit that our favorite part of the whole kit and caboodle is the graphics. We love the way the game looks, especially the looks and interactions that the fish have with each other. We liked watching our fish create eggs, or race across a tank to say hi to a new recruit. Everything about the game and its looks has been polished from head to toe, creating a world that’s lively, cute and fun to be around. We also had no problem navigating between the apps various features and games.
Are you worried about the price? Don’t be! The app is completely free in the App Store with the option to purchase additional features like coins, pearls, etc. However, you don’t have to do any of this, as you can enjoy Fish with Attitude without paying a dime. All in all, this makes Fish with Attitude easily one of the most fun and inviting micromanagement games we have ever played! It’s also an easy recommendation because of that.
Fish With Attitude requires iOS 4.3 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
