When the user initially loads App in the Air, they are prompted with a window seat view image as if they were sitting in a plane. Upon tapping it, the user will then be lead to the main screen that it is categorized by the following: “Tracking”, “Checking In”, “Learning”, and “Saving Money”. The user can either start using the app with their actual flight coming up or try the demo mode to configure a sample flight and get a better idea of how the app works and its primary functions. Their flight is schedule in 3 hours and they are ready to check in. From then on the app proceeds in showing the user what can be done from there on.
Now if the user chooses to actually proceed in adding in information concerning an actual upcoming flight, they will be prompted to add in the flight number, the departure point and destination point, the date, and their name. From there the user will be able to check into their flight, create a “to do” list, view alerts on their flight status, and share their flight details with friends and family via Facebook and Twitter. They can also gain access to airport dining locations, wireless hotspots, and so on. The neat thing is that the user can also communicate with other passengers about to board the same flight via online chat.
