ZappApp: iPhone Video App Review
Tired of switching apps when you switch from business to pleasure? Now there’s an app that lets you handle your business, get your groove on and even complete Craigslist style transactions. It’s called ZappApp, and it comes to us courtesy of Openwave Computer Services. Let’s see how this app holds up to a little critical analysis.
As I mentioned, ZappApp is multidimensional. With one simple set up, you create a dating profile, a professional profile and a seller profile. The ZappApp iPhone app uses your current location to connect you to new friends, business partners and buyers and sellers. For that reason, and others, ZappApp really shines best in a busy city or college campus. After all, the success of the app is going to depend on local interest. I also think this app could be a perfect addition to a tradeshow or professional conference where attendees set up profiles and use them to network.
ZappApp automatically searches for local matches to your interests. It works pretty fast, too. Once you make a connection, and it’s accepted, you can use the app to message other people in a chat style conversation. You can customize your own profile and even upload a photo.
Like most new social networking apps, ZappApp has potential, but, at least where I live, it just isn’t making waves yet, limiting its usefulness
Layout & Design:
ZappApp is organized logically in a series of tabs, and rocks a sunny motif that’s super cheerful. Yellow’s not my favorite color to stare at on my iPhone screen, and the app could use some animation or fun graphics, in my opinion.
I also ran into a few functionality issues with the app. It force closed a few times while I was using the Settings tab.
For a free new social app, ZappApp definitely sets itself apart from the pack by covering all the bases. I do appreciate the app’s multifaceted approach, although it could use some updates, like a true marketplace. Still, it’s hard to turn down a free opportunity to get more connected. I highly recommend this app to professional event organizers looking for a way to help their attendees connect, or for someone interested in looking for love in a new way. As interest and membership in ZappApp grows, it could be a true community builder with a lot of potential. Check it out.
ZappApp iPhone app requires iOS 4.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
