Hypnomatic: iPhone App Written and Video Review
Have you ever wanted to try hypnosis, but you’ve simply been too afraid to ever give it some serious consideration? Have you heard all about the benefits that it can bring to you, but you’re just not sold enough to go out and pay someone you’ve never met to mess with your head? If so, then you’re in luck: Hypnomatic by developer Wisteria is the perfect way to cheaply explore (and benefit from) hypnosis without ever leaving your house! So if you’re interested and want a deeper look, go ahead and scroll down below the break to see our whole review of Hypnomatic for the iPhone.
Concept and Functionality
Hypnomatic at its core delivers what is called a computerized hypnotic session to its users. These are individual animations and sounds designed to induce an hypnotic state in the viewer, but a state with a specific goal in mind. If you’d like to know more about the actual techniques that the application uses, you can do so by simply clicking the “Science” tab along the bottom of the app. The developers have taken a lot of effort to give you as much information as they can on the subject of hypnosis. And if you’re new to the field like we are, you’ll really appreciate the added boost.
Otherwise, the app is fairly straightforward. It comes with three free sessions, including one to relax with that we particularly liked. You simply click on the one you want and away the app goes, producing the hypnotic imagery. If you’d like, you can purchase additional hypnotic sessions covering everything from Yoga to smoking cessation: There’s even one for sexual energy and confidence. So all in all, if you’re really eager to give hypnosis a try, but want lots of information before getting in too deep, Hypnomatic is easily the best fit for your needs.
Design and Interface
As much as we like the functionality of Hypnomatic, we were also rather fond of its simple interface. It uses a very basic sort of tabbed navigation that we’ve seen elsewhere on the App Store before. However, in this case, it doesn’t come across as drab, but rather concise and easy to use. We also liked the list of available sessions, which keeps our purchases neat and tidy. Best of all, the sessions themselves require no input from you to work: Which is always a boon in our eyes.
We’ll spin it—no pun intended—to you this way: If you’ve ever been curious about hypnosis and have been dying to give it a try, there’s no better (or cheaper) way to go about doing so than with Hypnomatic. It’s free, easy to use, and comes with enough features to let you have a firm taste of the subject before spending a single dime. In other words, give it a go! What have you got to lose?
Hypnomatic requires iOS 4.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
