Do you usually travel alone or go to places frequently unaccompanied? Do you want the reassurance that your family and friends can know where you are and locate you in case of an emergency? from developer TTL will do just that for you. It is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), and iPad, and runs on iOS 5.1 or later.


When the user initially loads, they are prompted with a brief introduction on the purpose of the app. It basically states that the app functions in helping keep the sue r safe by letting the people who care about them know if the user might be in trouble. The user can start by selecting emergency contacts. Alarms will be set for up to 5 emergency contacts. The user can create an alarm anytime they feel unsafe. If the user fail to check in on time or press the panic alarm button, emergency contacts will also be notified by email. An additional “SOS” alarm can also be activated by the user. If the user wants to notify their emergency contacts via “SMS”, they can add “SMS” credits to their app account. So basically the user will select their preferred emergency contacts, then during transit they can set the alarm, and once the arrive to their destination safely, they can “check in” notifying their emergency contacts that they are safe.

There are no subtractions needed for this app. GPS location tracking is also provided. Emergency contacts are notified by email, even if the user’s device is damaged, switched off, or does not have any coverage. Emergency contacts are also shown a map of the user’s location.

Appearance and Layout: App Review

The overall layout for is simple and effective. Menu functions are understandable and clear. App navigation is easy to go through and sort by. The main menu features an “Alarm” tab, a “Contacts” tab, a “Setting tab, and a “Store” tab. All are self-explanatory and the user can quickly figure out where to go and what to do.


The developer offers this iPhone app for free. The value of is really based on if the user needs this type of app or not. Supposing the user needs this type of app in their everyday life, this app is really worth the value. It doesn’t hurt to be extra cautious especially in vulnerable situations. Although, the primary audience maybe geared toward women, it can be useful to both genders and possibly even save a life.  This app can be used while on a first date, on outdoor activities, or when random meet ups and exchanges occur. iPhone app requires iOS 5.1 or later and is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), and iPad.
