Taxi INT: iPhone App Written Review
Do you know what really sucks about traveling? Airplane food. Do you know what else sucks about it? Finding a taxi once you’ve landed where you’re going! We don’t know how many times we’ve felt stranded in a new city, just waiting, hoping and wishing for a cab to come by. However, thanks to Taxi INT by developer BeSoft those days are over! The app serves as a compendium of taxi services, numbers, rates, and ratings, serving them all up to you with an attractive interface and enough convenience to choke a horse. So without further ado, jump on down below the break to view our whole thought on this great traveling companion!
Concept and Functionality
The basic idea behind Taxi INT is this: How great would it be if a single app could deliver you all of the various taxi information you need to find a rate, know how much it costs, and get where you’re going safely. The app performs all of this and more, starting with geo-tagged information. The app uses the built in sat-nav to know exactly where you are, instantly serving up a list of nearby taxi services. Each of these listings comes complete with a phone number to call, as well as a rate for the service. For instance, one of the local cab companies here in Denver is listed with a $1 per mile rate, as well as a handy phone number. If you’re using your iPhone, this makes it incredibly simple to dial right out of the app, secure a ride, and then move on with life. The app also allows customers to rate the local services. Are you in a new city and want to know what taxi companies will be adequate? With the ratings, it’s simple! All in all, it’s a wonderfully functional app, and we couldn’t be happier with its performance.
Design and Layout
Best of all, the app looks pretty slick, too! Taxi INT makes heavy use of tabbed navigational controls along the bottom, which works efficiently for our needs. Likewise, we had no problem getting the app to recognize where we are, much less serve up the information we were after. Furthermore, we were also pleased to find that Taxi INT supports a wide range of cities: There wasn’t a city in the world that we couldn’t find more than an handful of taxi services for, complete with ratings and other information. Across the board, stellar work, guys!
If you’re a frequent traveler, the two bucks that Taxi INT costs is easily worth the purchase. It comes with an heap of offerings, incredible performance, and time saving shortcuts. If that doesn’t sound like a bargain to you, then we honestly don’t know what will.
Taxi INT requires iOS 4 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
