Madrid: iPhone App Video and Written Review
Are you planning a trip to Spain’s capital in the coming future? Or, are you just curious to have a look about the local terrain, see some of the finer places to eat, or even just get a feel for what one could do in the beautiful city? No matter what your need, Madrid by Minube is the only guide you’ll need. The app serves as a perfect portal into the European hallmark, allowing you an unprecedented look at what’s hot, what isn’t, and what absolutely cannot be missed. If you’re interest has been piqued, travel on down below the break to see our whole review of this killer Universal app!
Concept and Functionality
As stated, Madrid has one goal and one goal only: To be the ultimate traveling companion for your next trip to the city. From restaurants to points of interest, the app has it all. First and foremost, the app serves as a repository for places and points of interest. These areas are categorized by their type. These range rom places to eat, places to sleep, and even just places to have a look about. All of these points can be saved as favorites, allowing you to revisit them at any point in time. From there, the app also offers up a convenient, geo-located map. If you happen to be in Madrid at the time of use, the app will guide you to the points located inside its walls with ease. There’s also a photo gallery, in case you’re in the hotel anxiously awaiting the morning when you can go sightseeing. These images really are breathtaking. Our favorite part of the app, however, are the packs of additional content. These packs cost very little, and add specific, tour-guided points of interest to the whole. If you’d like to do an art tour of Madrid, for example, you simply acquire the needed pack.
Design and Layout
Best of all, though, the app looks absolutely flawless on the iPhone or iPad. We loved the sleek, Web 2.0 design that offers easy navigation between features. We also greatly enjoyed the photo viewer, which made it easy to get a feel for the area. However, our favorite feature was the offline mode capability. With this enabled, users can download texts and points to their iDevice, allowing them to find their way even without a cellular data connection—a vital point for those on the go in a new country!
We’ll spin it to you this way: Madrid is completely free in the App Store, and comes flush with a wealth of content. If you should so desire, you can easily expand the app’s functionality further with only a few dollars. As such, it serves as an indispensable guide for the newcomer in Madrid. If you’re planning a trip, there’s no better way to stay on top of your visit.
