We’ve all been there at some point in our lives: You’re at the mega-millions close-out sale, looking for the best deals. However, you’re stuck with a price tag in hand and a percentage overhead, wondering just what in the heck the actual price of the item now is. Now, you could reach for a calculator, by why do that when you have iSalePrice by developer Viking Rick’s? The app makes it quick, simple, and easy to calculate the exact price of your sale items, as well as to track your entire basket as you shop. It’s a beautiful utility and for our full review, you need only to jump down below the break!

Concept and Functionality

As stated, iSalePrice is first and foremost a sale price calculator. What this means is simple: You merely enter the original price of the item, and then choose on of the scrolling percent values offered up along the side of the application. iSalePrice then immediately tells you the current price, and if you’re interested, you can hit the check out button to save the item to your cart. As you go along and add even more items, the app will continue to track your total, ensuring that you never end up over-budget at the checkout counter. It’s a brilliant utility, and the breadth of percents available makes the app all the more worthwhile. For instance, iSalePrice runs from a scant 5% all the way up to 95% (God bless that business, as it’s surely going out!) Additionally, the app also offers you your choice of fractions, including 1/3, 1/4, and 1/2—not in that order. All in all, iSalePrice is a simple way to know what you’re spending and we appreciate the extra push in our shopping lives.

Design and Layout

For the most part, we greatly enjoyed the app’s easy to use design. The scrolling wheel of discounts is a nice touch, and the wide-buttoned calculator could not be easier to use. However, we do wish we had the option to do a few more things. For instance, we’d like to have international currencies. Sure, you can replace that $ with £ in your head, but it’s just no fun! We’d also like to be able to send our carts to our friends and families for quick-spot checking. Otherwise, the app is solidly built, and an ace in the hole.

Overall Value

Best of all, iSalePrice costs only a dollar in the App Store—no need to calculate that bargain! It’s a cheap deal, and one that can save you a lot of headaches in a pressure cooker shopping situation. If you’re frequently in that position, then go ahead and download iSalePrice. It’s an incredible deal, and we promise you won’t get buyer’s remorse.

iSalePriceiSalePrice requires iOS 4.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
