Inspire! Personal Productivity: iPad Video App Review
Looking for an app to add a bit of pep to your step, help you step up your game or focus on the things that really matter? This week I reviewed an app that’s all about motivating you on your own personal path to a better life. It’s called Inspire! Personal Productivity and comes to us courtesy of InnovaSystems International.
Forget about inspirational day calendars. The Inspire! Personal Productivity app combines multimedia features in a sleek way to create a customizable, moving, mobile inspiration board where you can keep track of your own goals. It’s really very cool.
There are a ton of features in this app. In fact, it was a bit confusing at first glance, so one of my top suggestions for the app is that the developers add a simple help menu that explains how to use the app’s features, not just what each button does. Once you complete an eight page intro section, Inspire! Personal Productivity is broken up into five main sections. On the main screen you can choose one of the built in slide shows of quotes and photos or build your own. Your current goals, the time and date are also housed here.
Then there are the app’s tabs. In the Values tab you can adjust your current value selections, sort them in personal and professional categories, and add custom descriptions about which each one means to you. You can enter your own personal and professional goals in the Goals tab, adjust the list of roles you play in the Roles tab, and create a weekly plan in the Planning tab. There are ways to share these goals and plans via email or calendar integration, so that it’s easy to build a support network, or you can keep it all to yourself if you so desire.
Layout & Design:
The real stars of the Inspire! Personal Productivity app, for me, were the built in quotes, images and soundtracks. Like I said, this isn’t just a plain Jane calendar app, it’s moving, talking and reaching out to you in a beautiful way. I really like the user interface layout as well, with simple tabs designed to keep your schedule, goals and inspirational slide show front and center. Oh, and this app sports retina display for third-generation iPads, which is, frankly, spectacular to behold.
Without a doubt, the content in Inspire! Personal Productivity is really top notch. The visuals are vibrant and the built in playlists, slideshows, motivational phrases and user interface are all quite, well, inspirational. How fitting. The platform is going to cost you $9.99. So if you need a place to organize your goals, are looking for an extra push in the gym or at work, it may be worth your time and money to get this app. I do wish it cost less because, let’s be honest, there are a lot of inspirational apps out there, and it takes a lot for me to shell out $10 on an app just to remind me of the things I want to do. I also didn’t find it very easy to share items with calendars, no matter how much the app description claimed it was just a matter of touching and dragging an item. Again, a simple help menu could definitely come in handy here. In my opinion, this app could use some work, and a more reasonable price tag. But it’s still quite beautiful.
Inspire! Personal Productivity iPhone app requires iOS 5.0 or later and is compatible with iPad. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
