AudioGopher: Written iPhone App Review
Sometimes do you wish you can keep track of where your favorite parts of certain songs are? Do you want your music to be played or searched for in a more simplified manner on your device? Want to navigate through lengthy audio files effortlessly? AudioGopher from developer Helical Software will do just that for you. This app is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), and iPad, and it requires iOS 4.3 or later.
The main premise of AudioGopher is to simplify the way you use and play your audio files. It takes your existing music files on your device and makes it easer for you to organize and choose what you want to hear, quickly. You have the option of book marking favorite parts of a song or audio book, and having the facilitation of referring back to it. When the app first loads, all of your audio files are already stored in that app for you to instantly access. You can select any file and begin to play it, and using the center jog wheel you can immediately skip to your desired section of the track. You can also generate a play list and place songs or audio books that you want to listen to at the current moment. There are also the standard functions such as fast forwarding and rewinding a track, shuffling the play list, and repeating a specific track.
Appearance and Layout:
The overall appearance of AudioGopher is basic and clean-cut. There is nothing fancy, and nothing distracting about it. Touch buttons and functions are overall pretty easy to figure out the purpose of, and users will be able to handle the app and understand its purposes fairly quickly. The sound quality comes across the same as how it would sound like when you use your original device’s default audio player.
For $1.99, AudioGopher is an all right deal. This app being offered for 99 cents would probably have been more reasonable, given the fact that it does the same functions as your default audio player on your device, and a little bit more. Yes, it does simplify and somewhat organize your audio files in a better way, but for those who are fine listening to an entire track of a song or audio book, then they might not feel the need to go with this app. However, for those who have numerous audio files and don’t necessarily like to listen to things all the way through, then this app is the perfect thing for them.
AudioGopher iPhone app requires iOS 4.3 or later and is compatible with with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
