To Do Checklist: iPhone App Video Review
Here at the iPhone App Review, we tend to see a lot of to-do and productivity applications floating across our desk. However, just because we see them in volume doesn’t mean we can’t pick out a gem in the rough. As such, may we present to you now the excellent To Do Checklist, by developer Brain In Stock. The app takes simplicity and elegance to a new level, offering a quickly categorized and easily managed way to create to-do lists from your iPhone in the blink of an eye. For our full thoughts on this excellent productivity enhancer, check below beyond the break!
Concept and Functionality
The concept behind To Do Checklist isn’t likely to rattle you quite as much as the app itself: In fact, the functionality is more or less built right into the title. The app allows users to quickly and efficiently create lists of items that need completing, making it simpler to, say, create a grocery list for your next Tescos run. Or, if you’ve got a big week-end up in terms of home repair, you can log away all those tiny little additions and improvements with ease. The app’s biggest boon—because, to be fair, to-do lists are nothing new on the iPhone—is its absolutely fantastic categorical skill. The app allows users to create individual lists of items for completion, but on the homescreen, these are all also sorted by their type. This allows you to rapidly view a list of all the uncompleted items, or perhaps a list of all the ones you’ve already knocked out. In this way, you can rapidly and efficiently get a good handle on what remains to be completed, and without having to comb through extensive menus. It’s really quite energizing stuff.
Graphics and Layout
Best of all, the look To Do Checklist is sporting does it a fair amount of justice. We liked the smooth fabric feel, as well as the ease of creating new items. A simple, green plus sign usually handles these list creations, and it could not be easier to append an item to an existing roundup. However, we did find the buttons a bit sensitive: It was sometimes hard to hit the bright green plus sign, though we aren’t exactly sure why. Perhaps our fingers are simply too large, or the button’s hotspot not quite big enough.
We’ll spin it to you this way: To Do Checklist is exactly one dollar more than we’d like to spend on it (especially considering the competition) but you’ll easily get your money’s worth. The app offers a stupendous way to create and manage to-do lists from your iPhone, making it an indispensable tool, even if the price is slightly higher than we might like.
To Do Checklist requires iOS 5.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review. The iPhone app reviews rating:
