Team Time Tracker: iPhone Video App Review
If you’ve ever been in a position that required you to track your time, you know how easy it is to forget exactly when you clocked in, took that phone call or started researching. Luckily this week we’ve had the new Team Time Tracker iPhone app from Moche Apps Limited in our hands. This organizational power house makes it easy to track the time you or a member of your team spend on a project, including all the pertinent details.
First and foremost, Team Time Tracker is an app for tracking time. Simply start a timer, associate it with a project, client or task, and away you go. Or, if you’re in a bit of a hurry, you can always begin a quick timer with a single touch. Assign it later when you have a bit more time.
One of our favorite things about this app is that the timers run no matter what. Close the app by accident? No problem. Open it now, or later, and the timer will still be going. Also, any time entries you make are manually adjustable. You can even create entire entries manually in case you forget to start a timer.
Then there are the app’s awesome customization options, which include rate info, pay style, notes, photo attachments and more. Team Time Tracker also makes getting your info out of the app simple, with multiple export options and formats. Save your exported documents right on your iOS device, send them via email as PDF or CSV docs or export data directly to Quickbooks.
We didn’t even mention the fact that you can manage up to five employees and their workloads right from the app or that Team Time Tracker comes with a super helpful tutorial section. This app’s features are top notch, there’s no doubt about it.
Layout & Design:
When it comes to the app’s design and user interface, we’re a bit less impressed. Not only is the color scheme beyond basic, it’s also a bit confusing to get the app set up for the first time. It’s all too easy to get lost in a series of set up tabs. First you create your new timer, then before you know it, you’re assigning it to a team member, setting up a project, adding a client, and you haven’t even left the window. To say this gets a bit confusing is an understatement. The app should walk new users through setting up staff and clients in a more orderly fashion, in our opinion.
At $4.99, Team Time Tracker will not break the bank. The app doesn’t have any kind of monthly maintenance fee, although you can choose to unlock unlimited team member management through an in-app purchase of an additional $4.99.
For freelancers, contractors or bosses, this app is an amazing value. With a bit of streamlining and a few adjustments it could earn an even higher score here at The iPhone App Review, but for the time being a four out of five isn’t half bad. Definitely check this app out if you are interested in keeping track of time, clients and staff in a whole new way.
