MyTunes Pro: Written iPhone App Review
Everybody pretty much cannot live without music in their everyday life. So why not organize and configure your music that way you want to on your iPod or iPad? What if you could arrange your songs to fit your lifestyle and setting, and even improve their listening quality by adding enhancement and transition features? MyTunes Pro from developer SRS Labs, Inc. will do just that for you. This app is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and it requires iOS 4.0 or later.
MyTunes Pro basically functions the same as your default music play on your device, with the exception that it does so much more. This app syncs your original songs and playlists and allows you to categorize them even more. You can create “Workout” or “Party” playlists, and you even have the same basic functions such as song shuffle, song repeat, and song search. There is even a “Wow” feature where you can enhance the overall sound of the song. MyTunes Pro also offers suggestions such as “DJ Transitions” to improve your listening experience. You can choose from unique transitions such as “Spinback”, “Crossover”, “Random”, and more to go from one song to the next. There are other additional promotional incentives and features offered through this app and these additional features include a “HD” function, an equalizer, a normalizer, and much more. However, unfortunately, these features are part of the “Premium Package” and are only made available for ten minutes every 24 hour period. So if the user wants unlimited access to even more features, they will need to make an additional purchase through the iTunes store.
Appearance and Layout:
The layout of MyTunes Pro is a little complicated to navigate through and takes some getting used to in figuring out how to work its features. However, once the user starts fiddling around then the rest of the process is a breeze through. The app itself has a monochromatic background, and the feature widow displays the song album cover (if available). Other than the initial complications (that is the reason for the one point deduction), this app’s appearance is universally appealing for all user ages.
Since MyTunes Pro is free of charge, there is nothing really devaluing about it. However, it would be nice if the pop up screens requesting for additional enhanced services would not come up so often. However, these offer screens tend to only surface when you want to attempt to further enhance the sound (for more than a ten minute gap) and does not disrupt the listening experience as much.
MyTunes Pro iPhone app requires iOS 4.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
