iKeepDocs: iPhone App Written Review
When it comes to modern life, there’s only one word we know to use: Confusing and often not very safe. We’re constantly dealing with a variety of passwords, documents, contacts, and other personal information that, should it arrive in the wrong hands, could easily screw up our lives. In fact, we’re often terrified to keep this data anywhere on our iPhone. Thankfully, though, we now have iKeepDocs by developer 7779 to hold our information safe and out of harms way. If you’ve been looking for a virtual safe for your real world data, look no further! Jump on down below the break to view our whole review of iKeepDocs.
Concept and Functionality
The idea behind iKeepDocs is simple: How great would it be if you could store all of your sensitive information, including log-in passwords, contacts, social security codes, etc. on your iPhone without having to worry about all of it winding up in the hands of malicious users? Essentially, that’s the whole idea behind iKeepDocs. The app firstly splits up its shelves amongst the users you specify. In this way, you could create a tab for yourself, your spouse, your kids, or whomever else. Then, you can add single points to store specific nodes of information. Want to remember your social security number in a way that’s secure and comfortable? There’s a card for that. Want to add your mates’ addresses and phone numbers? There’s also a card for that. These fill-in-the-form fields are quick, simple to use, and above all, secured by an encrypted password that you set at the first time you launch the app. All in all, iKeepDocs is one solidly secure way to save your information, and the auto-fill forms make it quick, to boot.
Design and Layout
As much as we liked the functionality of iKeepDocs, though, we weren’t such great fans of its design. The basics are quite nice, and we had no problem navigating between features. However, we’ve seen much better graphics in our time here, and in applications that are of a similar nature. More specifically, we’d love to see custom-tailored designs that are dependent on the style of information. For instance, a credit card graphic for your card numbers would be great, making the information that much easier to read.
Additionally, in ours eyes the $1.99 price tag is slightly higher than we might like. However, though the app misses the one dollar sweet spot, we still have no doubts that you’ll get your money’s worth out of the app. It’s safe, secure, easy to use, and above all else, goes the extra mile towards locking off your sensitive data. And for that, we’d be willing to pay much more than two bucks.
iKeepDocs requires iOS 4.2 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
