MoneyWiz: iPad App Video Review
We just don’t know what we’d do without services like Mint.com to help us manage our money. These kinds of softwares make it simple, effective, and unbelievably clear where our money is going. It also allows us to more effectively track our progress along our goals, or any other saving items we might be shooting for. As such, we absolutely have to recommend one of the smoothest financial apps to ever appear in the App Store: MoneyWiz by developer SilverWiz. The app offers an incredibly powerful way to manage your personal finances from your iPad, and in a way that’s both organic, and completely intuitive. All in all, it’s our new favorite way to manage our bank accounts on the go, and if you’re interested, you can view our whole thought on MoneyWiz below beyond the break!
Concept and Functionality
If you’ve ever used the much-lauded online service Mint.com, then you likely have a pretty good handle on how MoneyWiz behaves. The app allows you to enter specific bank accounts or other assets, and then adjust their status based on your expenses or income as those items roll through. For example, we were able to create a full work-up including our multiple bank accounts, our credit card, and even our assets like our cars. This produced a full portfolio of our financial state, which we could then customize using MoneyWiz. If you’ve been looking to save or budget your fiduciary state, the app makes it easy through budgeting goals. These can be set however you like, and can even be used to track specific expenses or income sets. Along those lines, you’re also free to specify certain categories for each and every transaction. These can be filtered through latter at your convenience, allowing for a more rapid perusal of your recent spending.
All in all, it’s an incredible and fluid way to manage your money, and as MoneyWiz covers everything from importing your bank statements right down to an included currency converting calculator, we could hardly ask for more.
Design and Layout
Perhaps one of the biggest boons for MoneyWiz is the fact that it’s so simple to use. Everything about the app’s interface is fluid and intuitive, from creating new bank accounts down to setting password and encryption settings. This was particularly noticeable in the addition of new transactions. We had no trouble adding categories, filters, or photos to our records, which we appreciated greatly. However, we do wish the app could tap directly into our bank accounts for data.
At the end of the day, MoneyWiz is hands-down the best way to manage your finances from your iPad. The interface is dynamically simple, the features powerful, and above all else, the experience comforting. For that, we feel the five dollar asking price is a drop in the bucket. MoneyWiz earns a perfect five stars, as well as our recommendation.
MoneyWiz requires iOS 4.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
