Buncee Bits: iPhone App Video Review
Here at the iPhone App Review, we tend to like anything that allows us to create media or content directly from our iPhone or iPad. As such, we’re even bigger fans of applications that allow us to take elements of our everyday life and turn them into something special. Add Facebook and Twitter to the mix, and you’ve likely got us for life. Buncee Bits, by developer Buncee is just such a title for the iPhone. The app allows us to express our moods and feelings in a quick, snappy, and digital way—and all from our iPhone! For our full thoughts on this miniature scrapbooking app, check below beyond the jump!
Concept and Functionality
in the past, we’ve had the pleasure of looking at a few of Buncee’s other applications for the iPhone and iPad. The company is best known for producing utilities that make it easy and creative to fashion simple (or complex) illustrations out of modern and everyday life. Buncee Bits is no different, allowing users to take snapshots of their lives, add some quick text to it, and then send the whole thing to popular social networking locations. There’s also a wealth of backgrounds to choose from in the gallery, if you’re looking to make a quick card on the run. In essence, Buncee Bits is the modern way to create a digital card for your loved ones: Or even just a snapshot of events. Want to quickly catalog away a portion of your day, like that killer cup of coffee for instance? Snap a photo, add a quick note, and then blast it away to your favorite cloud service. It’s quick, effective, and can be quite meaningful to your mates.
Design and Graphics
In the past, we’ve noticed a lot of dedication to design and ease-of-use from Buncee. Buncee Bits is no different, coming stock with an interface that’s simple to use, ergonomic, and lightning quick. We loved the variety of included backgrounds, though we really have to admit, we found it irritating that we couldn’t change the color of the text. The font size was simple enough to modify, but unless we’re seriously missing something, it doesn’t appear there’s anyway to handily modify the font hue. You can however change the font itself, which is a nice touch, as are the multitude of social networking venues available to the user.
We’ll spin it to you this way: Buncee Bits is only a dollar in the App Store, and as such, it’s really quite an incredible bargain for the iPhone user with a social conscience. The app makes it simple to send out quick cards, notes, or reminders, integrating well with popular media. Even though the font is slightly off-base at the moment, the rest of the app is rock-slid.
Buncee Bits requires iOS 4.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
