T-All in One: iPhone Written App Review
If you love animated shorts, the T-All in One app is going to be right up your alley. This universal app by T-Short is the official mobile app for the BIMINI International Animated Film Festival, and it features hot animation talent from around the world. Did we mention it’s entirely free?
A selection of 12 diverse animated films of about five minutes each are the stars of the T-All in One app. Entries include work from Hungary, France, Germany South Korea, Australia, Russia and the United Kingdom. A wide range of genres and animation technology are showcased in the app, making it a delightful showcase for new and veteran fans of the genre.
Some of the app’s themes are decidedly mature, so we suggest this app for a PG-13 and up crowd. Featured stories include comedy, romance, horror, black humor, experimental, musical and slice of life. There’s some serious range here, from the animated instrumental set to Gerswhin (Blossom in Blue) to the twisted tale of Eat Dog Cat Mouse, and the bloodbath from France called Chili Bucket.
We think this app presents an interesting cross section of the animated shorts industry, and, thanks to its award winning content, a brilliant viewing experience. Films featured in this application have appeared at Cannes Film Festival, Berlinale, Sundance Film Festival and Annecy International Animated Film Festival, to drop a few names.
Layout & Design:
T-All in One is truly universal, meaning it works well on the iPhone and makes awesome use of the iPad’s larger screen. We suggest using it on the iPad if you have that option so you can enjoy the beautiful details of the shorts. There’s nothing spectacular about the app’s design work. It’s basic, and lets the video content be the true star.
We particularly like the app’s auto play user interface. If you want to enjoy each film simply start at the beginning. T-All in One will play each film consecutively in full screen mode. Naturally you can pause, change film and navigate back to the app’s main screen if you so desire. Each film has a short description and category information that can be helpful when you’re deciding which clips to watch.
The content, range and skill showcased by the T-All in One iPhone app are amazing. We can’t believe this BIMINI International Animated Film Festival app is entirely free, but we’re happy that it is. T-All in One is well made, super easy to use and houses some stellar animated short films. We highly suggest this app to any fan of the genre, or as a great way to get familiar with some of the best shorts out there. We’re looking forward to more work from T-Short
T-All in One iPhone app requires iOS 4.1 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
