MLMipedia Pro: The iPhone App Written Review

Reviewed by Philip Chan

Ever heard of MLM Programs? Perhaps the names Avon, Tupperware, Herbalife and Mary Kay will sound more familiar? All of these programs run through a variation of the MLM business, Multi-Level Marketing. Basically, such programs often require a small fee to join, whereby members attempt to sell products and recruit others to join the program under them, thereby growing their base of customers and lower-level members. Anyway, there are many different MLM programs available for interested people to join today. It can be a little difficult comparing all the different opportunies through these programs at the same time

MLMipedia Pro offers a fairly simplistic set of controls, allowing users to study the fairly comprehensive lists of MLM programs with ease. Just load up MLMipedia Pro on your iOS device, tap past the Terms of Agreement screen, and you can view all the MLM programs on one scrollable page. If you want to change how the list is organized, simply tap the buttons at the bottom of the screen. These will allow you to view the list organized by Grouping (cost to join, industry, none), Sorting (sales, founded, name), Ordering (descending, ascending), Filtering (favorites, skiplist, none). It’s a little confusing at first (see below).
Info on different MLM programs include Year Founded, Annual Sales ($ figure), Industry type and Cost to Join. If you desire further information on the programs, simply tap the listed program and select the links to the company’s website, comp plan, founder bios, etc.  From this detailed page view of the program, you can select to Favorite or Skip the program, adding to the organizational capability of MLMipedia Pro.

Graphical Layout:

MLMipedia Pro

MLMipedia Pro sports a rather basic layout. Users must view the app’s Terms of Use on a loading screen every single time the app loads, from my experience. The organization style of this app, based on the four buttons at the bottom of the screen, is a little tricky to figure out at first. However, just glancing at the top of the screen after tapping the buttons will show you the changes you’ve made to the organization style of the app layout. A more preferable layout would have the buttons overlaid with their respective descriptive text, but this is still manageable. On the positive side, MLMipedia Pro sports a pretty sharp graphic style, with an attractive app icon and easy-reading text style for quick browsing.

It’s worth noting that MLMipedia Pro is not a free app. Rather, it is available for $9.99 through the iTunes store. While this may seem expensive at first, I have to point out that MLMipedia Pro is a pretty excellent resource for comparing various MLM programs. I haven’t run across such a valuable and well-done comparison program on a mobile platform before. Users interested in paying to start in one of the many MLM programs on the market today will certainly find this program, despite its quirky layout, very useful. Furthermore, the hyperlinks to information on each program through the app are another useful feature, helping avoid lengthy Google searches while researching MLM programs. Defnitely look up MLMipedia Pro if you are interested in learning more about the many popular MLM programs are the market today.

MLMipedia Pro iPhone app requires iOS 4.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
