Forget about those boring note taking apps for iPad. They may let you type or write, but we bet they don’t do half the stuff that NoteLedge does. NoteLedge, from awesome app developer Kdan Mobile Software, lets you write notes, add audio, import and take pictures, add multiple videos, insert fun clip art, notate, erase, use custom backgrounds, access templates, and more. So next time you reach for an app to take a note, remember our iPad app review of NoteLedge and make the right decision. Read on to find out more.

Utilizing a unique set of input and sharing tools, NoteLedge definitely pulls away from the pack of boring writing apps. This amazing set of features and abilities make NoteLedge an awesome app for storyboarding, brainstorming, collaborating, note taking and pretty much any other basic multimedia concoctions you’d care to cook up. One of the coolest features is the app’s Navigator, a block that lets you create individual work then move it around the screen.

NoteLedge also comes with a fully stocked library of seasonal stamps, meaning this app is ready to help you spread holiday cheer right this second. Imagine sending your family a holiday eBook instead of a holiday eCard. They’ll be completely impressed, and you can even include audio or video of you and your family sending season’s greetings.

The sharing options are amazing, but we expected nothing less from Kdan Mobile Software. Your creations will go far with integrated DropBox, iDisk,, Google Docs, FTP and WebDAV server cloud services. Or, of course, you could always email them, either as single pages or entire projects in PDF or RFT formats.

Layout & Design:

Most of the features, input tools and menu options in NoteLedge are tucked neatly away in the borders of the screen. While it does help users make the most of the iPad’s screen space, it also gets a little confusing. It took us a few minutes to find the option  to add a new document (it’s at the bottom of the Files screen), and using the Navigator was a little confusing at first.

It’s possible that NoteLedge is almost too complicated. A little reorganization might help the app keep and expand its awesome set of features while making them feel more accessible. The app does include a useful tutorial section, and we suggest tapping the question mark in the upper left-hand corner of the app if you’re ever feeling a bit lost. Also, we wish there were more background options in template.

Overall Value:

We think NoteLedge is a steal at $2.99. This app has an amazing set of features. It’s every scrapbooker’s dream and something everybody else can use, too. If you’re looking for a way to share memories this season or just a cool app for taking notes with all the trimmings, NoteLedge is your best bet.
