Autopilot Game: iPhone Written App Review
Have you ever stumbled home on Autopilot? Then you’ll be able to identify with Autopilot Game, an app where you must help poor, inebriated Bob stumble home in time for dinner, or else he’s going to have heck to face from his Mrs. This seriously funny game for those 17 and older is from Dosware LLC. We hope you came ready to laugh.
The trouble with Bob is that he works a long, tiring day pretty much doing nothing. On his way home he likes to congratulate himself with a little liquid courage. What’s so wrong with that? Trouble is, Mrs. Bob is at home with dinner on the table, and she’s not a patient woman. Your job is to tilt your iPhone to keep Bob moving past the unsavory pubs and friends who would hand him another pint.
If you don’t tilt enough Bob stops, has his drink at a leisurely pace, and sometimes even passes out. So you’ll be tilting like a champ, trying to get this poor guy home before he runs out of time, because every extra drink he downs only makes your job harder.
Autopilot Game comes with three different levels of difficulty. It’s a pretty straightforward game, with a quick intro advising you of Bob’s plight and a short help menu on how to play. It’s not the most inventive game we’ve ever seen, but it might be one of the funniest.
Without a doubt, this game is hilarious, from the premise to the graphics. The graphics are actually surprisingly detailed, from Bob’s beer belly to the salacious outlines of girls in the windows.
It’s hard to tell if the developers made the game difficult to control on purpose or if it’s a glitch, but we did have a little trouble with the game’s tilt responsiveness. Sometimes we’d have the game tilted all the way over and poor, befuddled Bob would still stop for a drink. Other times, we’d have less of a tilt going on and the frothy temptation would just fade away into the background. It felt a bit unpredictable, and made it nearly impossible to beat the game on the hard setting.
If you’re in need of a laugh, playing Autopilot Game will definitely get you giggling. The characters are hilariously exaggerated, and there’s just something about watching a poor, dumb guy getting schnockered then going home to his furious wife that translates to comedy in any language. The app is cost effective at $1.99, and we foresee a special place in our lives for this app as the holiday season drives us to drink. After all, watching someone stumble home drunk is just a little bit funnier when you’re inebriated yourself (it goes without saying, but we’ll say it anyway, please drink responsibly and legally).
Autopilot Game iPhone app requires iOS 3.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
