App Hits: iPhone Written App Review
If you’re tired of spending too much time searching for the latest apps on the rise and on sale in the app store, look no further. App Hits, the new app news aggregator from HI Innovation, puts you in touch with all the movers and shakers. If you’re looking for an easy way to cut down the time you spend shopping for apps, our iPhone app review of App Hits might do the trick.
Utilizing a unique set of search criteria, App Hits helps put you in touch with apps that have recently gone on sale, sky rocketed up the charts and have top ratings. The search experience is entirely customizable. While App Hits already organizes apps in sale, new, hot and top rank categories, each category has further filter options. So if you only want to see the free apps that are on sale from the past three days with high ratings, it’s easily done.
The app entries are also quite impressive. They include full iTunes descriptions and screen shots, in addition to direct App Store links and a history of the app’s rank and price. You can even share your app finds via Twitter, Facebook or email right from the description page.
The app is missing user reviews, which we find a little unfortunate. Other than this one absent feature, we couldn’t be happier with the sorting interface and other options of App Hits.
Layout & Design:
To be quite frank, the App Hits iPhone app design leaves a bit to be desired. It’s utilitarian at best, with basic black tabs at the bottom of the screen and sorting options rocking a color way too close to the standard iOS tone.
While it doesn’t particularly delight us in any way, the design is straightforward and easy to use. Changing sort options and access help files is simple, so we can’t knock App Hits too many points. Just remember, a little design work can go a long way with an app that’s so data intensive.
The deal of the day might be on App Hits itself. This bad boy is free and easy to add to your app arsenal. So really, you have nothing to lose by downloading it.
App Hits is supported by advertisements, and they appear on every single page of the app, usually in banner format. While we’re not wild about constant advertising, it’s understandable. App Hits is well made, it’s entirely free and it’s going to save you a ton of time when you’re looking for the next best thing. What’s not to love?
App Hits iPhone app requires iOS 4.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
