Keep Your Media Safe iPhone App Video Review

KYMS for iPhone

We have to admit: Keep Your Media Safe (KYMS) iPhone app by developer IdeaSolutions S.r.L. is one of those quirky apps that has completely absorbed every inch of our attention. The title is incredibly fun, and though the price is a bit high, however, a free version has just been released so that you may try it without the need for an immediate purchase, thus we can’t help but recommend this iPhone app. KYMS has got to be one of the neatest things we’ve ever seen on the iPhone and/or iPad, and if you’re into keeping your media secure and hidden from sight, there’s no better way to do it than Keep Your Media Safe. We loved the iPhone app review of Keep Your Media Safe, and hope you will enjoy it as well.

Concept and Functionality

In describing what KYMS does, we run the risk of sounding particularly foolish: In essence, the iPhone app presents a calculator front that can be unlocked by entering the preset password, and then clicking the enter button. Once completed, the app notifies the user that the passcode has been accepted, and then KYMS switches gears entirely.

You see, KYMS is first and foremost designed to keep all of your media files (that would be photos and videos) safe and secure. On the other side of the app’s calculator is a fully functional photo editor, complete with the ability to create albums, sort and view photos and videos, and export media to social networking giants like Facebook and Twitter. Media content itself can be loaded from the user’s photo album, iTunes file sharing, any open Wi-Fi connection, or even social media sites like Facebook. There’s almost literally a hundred ways to load your media into KYMS, and once your stuff has been landed, it’s kept secure and out of sight until the proper code is entered.

All in all, KYMS makes us feel like James Bond, and all while keeping our content safe. We have to admit, the actual value of this security is somewhat debatable (especially as the iPhone itself can be locked at the lock screen) but it’s still hard to argue with the sheer “cool” factor KYMS is sporting.

Design and Layout

The app’s biggest boon, by and large, is its absolutely stellar design. This thing is fully touch-optimized for both the iPhone and iPad, and we can’t get over how cool it is to have a fully functional calculator and a storage safe in one package. It took no time at all to set up our password, and it takes equally as little time to access our media. We couldn’t be happier with the ease of navigation, while the photo viewer, sorter, and editor are all top-notch.

Overall Value

At the end of the day, KYMS is sadly priced a tad higher than what we’d like. However, a free version was just released that will allow you to try the app before committing to a purchase. The iPhone app is, in our eyes, is still a novelty—though a very engaging one—and even though it’s clear the design has been worked to a fine shine, we still would prefer to see the app clock in at a smooth dollar even.

KYMSKYMS requires iOS 4.1 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
