Ireland. This bonnie land brought us Liam Neeson, Colin Farrell and 007 himself, Pierce Brosnan. And don’t even get me started on Lucky Charms, cockney and Guinness. Suffice to say, other than U2, I’m devilishly fond of all things Irish.
If you’re ready to be beguiled by the land of green, tuck in to my iPhone app review of Talking Woody the Leprechaun. This talking app is chock full of Irish charm.
Foremost, the Talking Woody the Leprechaun iPhone app is a talking app. That means once you launch the app you may say things into your iPhone, which Woody will repeat in his dashing Irish brogue. I’ve heard a lot if talking apps, and the best word I have for Woody’s voice is cute.
There is also an interactive aspect to the Talking Woody the Leprechaun iPhone app. You can touch a phrase button to hear Woody repeat famous movie quotes. Tap the button with a shoe on it to see Woody bust a move.
There’s even an option that puts a glowing pot ‘o gold on the screen, which Woody promptly makes disappear if you reach for it. Isn’t he a cheeky bugger?
My favorite feature is the record option. Record Woody repeating your words, or acting on one of the function buttons, and then play it back, email it or upload it to Facebook right from the app.
I do wish there was an option to just save it as a gallery video, but sharing options are a nice step up from some other talking apps.
Maybe the idea behind Talking Woody the Leprechaun isn’t the most original, but extra features do make it an entertaining iPhone app.
Graphics & Design:
Graphically, the Talking Woody the Leprechaun iPhone app is absolutely charming. Woody’s animations are fun, fluid and pleasantly rendered. The whole app sparkles with bright graphics, beautiful scenery and delightful movement.
It’s worth noting that iPod Touch users must use their headphones to have their words echoed by Woody. Other than that slightly annoying functionality issue, the Talking Woody the Leprechaun iPhone app works quite well.
Every function button works correctly. There’s something hilarious about listening to a little leprechaun dressed in green tell you, “I’ll be back.” Woody’s dance and pot ‘o gold trick are delightful and run smoothly every time.
Woody is also interactive. Give him a tickle and see what happens, or bonk him on the head. He’s your leprechaun after all.
To trap the darling leprechaun named Woody on your iPhone download the Talking Woody the Leprechaun iPhone app for $.99. There is a lite version of this app that is free, however it lacks the spectacular features included in the full version.
If you’re looking for a laugh, have a love for Ireland or are hankering after a quality talking app, give Talking Woody the Leprechaun a shot.
Talking Woody the Leprechaun iPhone app requires iOS 3.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
