Interested in capturing every moment for posterity, or having trouble deciding where to keep track of your baby’s numerous schedules? Pay attention to our iPhone app review of Baby Activity Journal.
Creation a custom baby book and time line tailored to your child (or children) easily with the Baby Activity Journal iPhone app.
Start by selecting a photo to customize the profile and filling out a few basic details, such as your baby’s name, birthday and birth stats.
Once you’ve created a profile it’s time to start creating a log of all the important information. The Baby Activity Journal iPhone app lets you keep track of daily events, such as feedings, pumping, sleep and diaper duty.
It also acts as a mobile baby book with entries for growth records, major developmental milestones (crawling, first haircut, etc.) and medical data such as vaccinations, allergies and medication history.
All that data can be backed up, shared via email and perused on your iOS device. I think that’s where the app’s true value comes from: being able to keep and share data for posterity’s sake.
My one request? Please add a search feature to make accessing older dates and events easier.
Layout & Design:
The Baby Activity Journal iPhone app uses soft colors to polish a pretty standard iOS UI. The baby profile pages are the main focus of the app, with large photos and activity streams dominating the screen. Buttons to access entry forms and profile settings are located at the bottom of the screen in a motley set of colors.
A simple swish to the side will allow you to access multiple baby profiles. So keep this app around for the long haul.
Baby Activity Journal is easy to use and quite pretty in a subtle way. Of course, I have a few suggestions on how to improve the app. Don’t I always? An option for customizing the app with themes would simply make my day. The ability to add different themes to each baby profile would be even sweeter.
From photo capture to adding notes, the Baby Activity Journal iPhone app completes tasks with an easy grace of an app twice its age. Each button does what buttons are meant to do, and I have no complaints.
At the time of this review, the Baby Activity Journal iPhone app costs $2.99 to download from iTunes. That’s still cheaper than buying a baby book, and twice as convenient.
If you’re looking for an app to record every detail of each magical day with your baby this app is the way to go.
Baby Activity Journal iPhone app requires iOS 3.1.2 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
