Zombie Juice iPhone App Video Review
It’s inevitable, really. At some point the zombie apocalypse is going to find you. Best prepare now for the juicy situation.
What? Did you think zombies just vanished into thin air when you took them out? No, sir. To help you face the inevitable with some grace, the fine folks at Valhalla Studios Bifrost bring you the Zombie Juice iPhone app.
Get ready for a messy good time. Arm yourself with knowledge and my iPhone app review of Zombie Juice. A lawnmower blade or two wouldn’t hurt either, come to think of it.
Obviously the folks at Valhalla Studios Bifrost have a healthy sense of humor. Capitalizing on the wave of zombie mania sweeping the world, the Zombie Juice iPhone app pits you against legions of the undead in defense of your home.
There are two distinct gameplay modes, survival and freak out. In survival mode you slash zombies as they rush your front yard and then as they swarm your bed. In freak out mode you choose your local and kill as many zombies as possible in 90 seconds.
Use solid strokes to take out multiple undead visitors at the same time for bonus points and, obviously, more juice. Watch your blood meter at the bottom of the screen. It will fill and unlock special weapons that will help you save the day.
The Zombie Juice iPhone app is deceptively simple to learn, but difficult to master. Unlock medallions as you progress and earn hilarious labels. I see myself taking a stab at Zombie Juice every day or so. It’s a great casual game.
Graphics & Design:
Can you really go wrong with zombies? Zombie Juice isn’t home to one boring style of shuffling living dead. There are thin zombies, fat zombies, zombie hounds, zombie monsters and so much more. It’s easy to tell that a hefty amount of design work went into this app.
And the juice. Oh lord, the juice. It splatters across the screen with a satisfying smack. It’s disgusting, yet strangely gratifying. Warning: Zombie Juice is not for the faint of heart.
In keeping with the theme of all things juicy, the Zombie Juice iPhone app’s UI is organized in bloody red and green splatters. You’ve got to hand it to the folks who created this app. They found a theme and went for it.
On additional pages menu options can be accessed with an easy scrolling interface. During the game you play with your finger tip. The blood meter and pause button are kept small and inconspicuously tucked at the bottom of the screen.
Can you put a price on the satisfied feeling that comes from defending your home against the undead? I wouldn’t dare. Zombie Juice was featured as Open Feint’s free game of the day. Any other time it costs $.99, a small price to pay for invaluable zombie apocalypse training.
Zombie Juice iPhone app requires iOS 4.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
