Pro-Share iPhone App Video Review
If you take a ton of photos and videos, and are constantly wasting precious minutes exporting your treasures to social networking sites, Pro-Share by developer iApps24 offers a quick fix for your time-consuming woes. The iPhone app sports a pleasant interface, rock-solid performance, and a ready-to-go style that makes picture exporting a breeze from your iPhone.
Concept and Functionality
The Pro-Share iPhone app is best described as a digital gun for your iPhone, blasting out your photographs and videos en masse to various social networking options. Users merely click a thumbnail, and away the app goes, uploading the specified pixel-batch to either Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, or Picasa. Each service can be utilized in tandem, making it easier than ever to annoy all of your friends (everywhere on the Web) with your latest mobile photography masterpiece.
Pro-Share also includes the option to share pics over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, a feature I found particularly advantageous during the iPhone app review. If you want to send a photograph to a mate, you can forget emailing it to him: Whether he’s stationed at a computer, or sitting beside you with iPhone in hand, getting that snapshot of the hot girl at the bar on his screen couldn’t be easier.
On the whole, I was very impressed with Pro-Share’s functionality. The app behaved solidly, uploading my images quickly and without many hang-ups. I did occasionally have a picture choke at the beginning of a transfer, but these bugs were few and far between. The speed offered here really is lightning quick, especially when all four social networking sites are being called at the same time.
Design and Layout
Pro-Share keeps things simple, offering a tab-based interface that reminded me a lot of stock iOS apps. Photography albums are preserved here as well, meaning it’s a cinch to find the photo or video you’re looking for, especially if it’s been set aside under its own heading. Likewise, browsing your incoming and outgoing queue could not be easier on the eyes.
I do wish Pro-Share had come with a little more social networking integration: A cheap complaint considering the services already offered, but a valid one nonetheless. A few more sites would have been appreciated, including Google+ and Tumblr, just to round off the professional blogging potential of the application.
With its $ .99 price-tag held high, Pro-Share is a tremendous value for the iPhone photography with a penchant for mass social networking. If you frequently spam your favorite sites with your images, Pro-Share will not only save you some time, but it will also make you feel like a true professional. And for that experience, we think the app is easily worth a recommendation.
Pro-Share requires iOS 4.2 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
