Event Adder Plus by developer High Score Apps is like an add-on for the stock calendar app, offering a quick way to create and save events. The app isn’t so much a standalone planner, as it is a rapid fire way to plug new meetings into your stock calendars. The value of such a product is debatable, but with solid performance and a smooth interface, Event Adder Plus is worth the dollar it’ll cost you.
Concept and Functionality
As mentioned, Event Adder Plus serves as a separate utility to aid in the creation of new events and meetings in your calendar. The app’s quick-fill forms and scrolling wheels make it easy to make a calendar reservation, setting important information like dates, location, duration, and start time. Users can also add personalized notes to each entry, making it simple to attach a contact’s address, or other assorted niceties.
Event Adder Plus also keeps track of entered dates, making it easy to recreate an entry via the in-app “Saved Events” tab. If you frequent a location or often see the same contact at the same time and place, the ability to restore a saved entry is quite the boon, especially as this fluid of creation is not yet stock with the iOS calendar app. User can also create alarms and repeats for any open rendezvous.
On the whole, the app performed flawlessly. Creating new events worked like a charm, and adding my new posts to the stock Calendar app really was as simple as tapping a button. I would have liked to see some filtering in the saved events tab: Being able to search through past events based on location, duration, or date would be a tremendous boon.
Design and Layout
All in all, Event Adder Plus looks decent on the iPhone. Navigation is controlled via handy arrow-like tabs that allow users to include more specific information about each entry. The scroll wheels the app makes copious use of are fully functional, but perhaps not the best looking data entry tools in the App Store.
Stock calendar integration is tremendously useful, but I still would have liked to see more in-app integration with more Internet-based services, like email, Facebook, or Twitter. Most of this can be achieved via the calendar, but having it that much closer to home would be a more graceful option.
Priced at the ever popular $ .99, Event Adder Plus certainly won’t be breaking the bank. If you’re looking for a quality add-on for the stock Calendar app, Event Adder Plus sports enough unique features to streamline the creation of new entries. That being said, the value of a utility that performs the same function as the stock Calendar app itself is certainly debatable.
Event Adder Plus requires iOS 4.1 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
