Just a Ball iPad Video App Review

Reviewed By: Jon Li

Ask me years ago, as I sat in physics class, if I ever felt that the word physics and fun would be utilized in the same sentence to describe a video game, and I likely would have chuckled. Fast forward to the present, and indeed, I can honestly say that the physics element, coupled with the puzzle gameplay found within Just a Ball by AngryOrange, was down right enjoyable, if not addictive. Those of you who watched the video app review may realize that I personally am not a physics expert, but boy do I enjoy trying, and polishing my skills at the same time.

Just a Ball challenges you to put the ball into the box. Sound simple? Ah, well then, I challenge you to a level my friend. In fact, there are many levels, and each brain teasing, physic busting, logic testing level will give your mind a work out, while causing occasional outbursts of laughter, and moments of “its off the rim (of the box)” cheers.

Just a Ball provides you with a 21 levels of challenging and problem solving addictive fun. You are presented with a variety of materials to maneuver within each level, and these items, such as tin cans, barriers, and more, aid you in your ball boxing adventure. By strategically placing the materials, and with a little luck, you too can help guide the ball safely home to the box.

Graphics and Sound:

The graphics of Just a Ball are superb. They are very sharp, clear, and almost lifelike, with an added feel of depth. I played the app on the iPad and this environment was perfect, as it was less constricting and provided a larger realm to enjoy the gameplay. The music too were cheery and welcoming, and for those who tire of them, you may disable the music from the apps home screen options.

Just a Ball is $.99, and for under one dollar you get 21 levels of physics fun, and plenty of challenge! Plenty of time was exhausted into creating an app that is as polished as Just a Ball, thus I feel that the overall value / fun factor warrants the cost of admission, as did the graphics, sound, and well rounded enjoyment of the game.

I got this game a few days ago. It reminds me of Bubble Ball but better. Graphics are a bit cheesy but def a fun app.
