i.Protect – The Security Bag iPhone Video App Review
i.Protect – The Security Bag, by developer Jan-Niklas Freundt, is a brilliant and cheap way to manage passwords, photos, links, and other sensitive data. The app’s excellent presentation, stellar pricing, and hard-core protection make it an absolute cure for the iPhone paranoia in us all.
If you’re like me, you have about fifty different important accounts spread all across the world wide web. Managing this multitude of log-in details, passwords, and safe codes can be an absolutely nightmare. They’re easy to write down, but leaving the security of your bank account in the hands of an easily stolen Post-It note is far from optimal. Enter i.Protect the Security Bag.
i.Protect – The Security Bag is an easy and secure way to ensure your private data is kept safe. When first booted, the app requests you create an unlock code, and then a master password. Both of these will work to keep your data from being wrongly accessed. In fact, as you use the app, you’ll find both of these codes are requested with reassuring frequency. The app itself offers the ability to store, save, and organize just about any kind of personal data you have: Photos, passwords, login details, car information, links to websites, or even phone numbers. All of your data is password encrypted and safe from prying eyes, and with the ability to store everything into folders, you’ll never be lost. i.Protect also throws in some unique additions, like an in-app secure browser and a random passcode generator. i.Protect also includes the ability to backup your entire data store to be saved onto your Mac, though you will have to pay an extra $ .99 for this awesome feature.
i.Protect’s design is truly top-notch. The iPhone app is rocking a gun-metal gray and black wardrobe that compliments the sturdy set of features and business casual market. In-app menus and help files are comprehensive and easy to use. Not only that, but navigating the different areas of the app are as simple as clicking on any single icon in the icon stack. Creating new codes, links, photos, or notes is simple and intuitive, making excellent use of drop-down menus to categorize new information. It’s a stellar production, and one that only compliments the app’s rock-solid features.
If you’re in the market for a password manager on the iPhone, you’re already well aware of the high prices these apps warrant. But at a smooth dollar, i.Protect is easily the best around. The app offers incredible (and safe) features at a rock-bottom price, and with such great design to boot, i.Protect is a hard app to pass up.
i.Protect the Security Bag requires iOS 4.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
