Bigger than an iPhone or an iTouch, the iPad is the perfect device with which to control your Mac from afar. Whether you’re wanting to operate your computer while on the couch or standing across the room, Remote Conductor for the iPad delivers.
Developed by m3me Inc, Remote Conductor works by accessing your Mac over a common WiFi network. With both portrait and landscape support, you can access all your open windows, find (and launch) applications and switch between programs. The app itself features as a trackpad-style mouse, and there is built-in gesture support.
To get started simply download the free server for your Mac, connect your iPad to your WiFi network, fire up the app, select the server, authenticate, and you’re good to go. Once the connection is established you’ll have immediate remote access to your mac from your iPad. Use the whole screen as a mouse, turn on the keyboard, scroll through open windows and view programs organized just like the apps on your iPad. Just about everything is customizable, and the whole app features a clean and intuitive interface that drives the touch-driven control input for your Mac.
Besides being incredibly easy (and satisfying) to use, the whole system is 256 bit encrypted – so all of your work and information is always secure.
For just $6.99, Remote Conductor is a seriously good remote control for your iPad.
Remote Conductor [iTunes Link] is compatible with iPad. Requires iOS 3.2 or later. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
