Now you can be the ultimate crime stopper! Along with your X-ray vision and your golden lasso there is one more tool to add to your arsenal – an iPhone app.
211 in Progress!
Imagine you’ve just spotted a fugitive, a bank robber, a burglar, a car thief – in other words you see the bad guy! There is a crime in progress and you can do something about it! It just so happens you left your golden lasso back at the house and your X-ray vision just isn’t what it used to be. It’s time to act fast. Do you call 911? Maybe so but that might blow your cover! Do you log into crimestoppers.com? If only there were a Starbuck’s nearby! You can send a text! How do you abbreviate First Ulysses Credit Union without offending anyone? If only there was a quick, easy to use, and anonymous cell phone application – well now there is.
No need to worry Gotham City!
iPhone has a new application which now allows you to submit real time and anonymous tips to law enforcement agencies. The TipSubmit Mobile app has been launched to help solve and prevent crime. It offers easy to use touch screen menus which can quickly create the information needed for local authorities. In a matter of a minute or so you can create a tip that has the location, time, and type of incident that has occurred or IS occurring. This tip is coded and opens the opportunity for two- way, anonymous contact with authorities. You can also use the GPS component if you choose to allow authorities to pin point your location. If you get a good look at The Joker’s face, you can attach photos as well as a video with this application! And no one will ever know your true identity, just like the real caped crusader!
The Crime Stopping Network!
This application is the latest offer from Tipsoft which also allows the public to offer anonymous tips through their website, via text messaging, and of course by telephone. The app takes a bit of the pressure off of having to remember a phone number or fitting pertinent information into a limited number of texted characters. Hopefully you are able to talk and text freely but if indeed your safety might be compromised with any noise the app works very smoothly, quickly, and quietly with its touch screens.
Who Was That Guy?
The free app can be downloaded here at the iTunes store. There is a demonstration video on the website that will allow you to familiarize yourself with the application and it is also useful to enter a few “Test” tips to get the hang of it. Just think, while the rest of the citizens are all in a panic when the cops roll up to apprehend the bad guy you’ll be the cool cat driving away in the Bat mobile!
