Step on to The Red Carpet with Oscar iPhone Apps

The Oscars are a time to fawn over our favorite celebrities, relive the finest cinema moments, and vote for the movies which touch our heart, inspire our mind, and provide us with unforgettable creativity, or simply a one-liner – “You talkin’ to me?”

This year, thanks to several new iPhone apps, the Oscars are indeed talking to you, and you can talk back!

Here are a look at two interactive iPhone apps that will help you make the most of this years Oscars.

Oscards iPhone app

The Oscars iPhone app

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has released a wonderfully interactive and social app that I believe will add a new level of excitement to the unveiling of awards.

The new iPhone app, creatively entitled The Oscars, allows you to get in on the action like never before. You may now make your own predictions and put your Oscar where your mouth is by competing with your friends.

The app also keeps you up to date on who wins, as well as how you scored on your predictions, and if you have bragging rights compared to your friends’ predictions. Hey, nothing washes down a big bowl of popcorn on Oscar night better than bragging rights.

The Oscars app is free and compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and the iPad.

Oscar Backstage Pass iPhone app

If you love, live, and breathe the Oscars, standard TV footage simply won’t do. For you, thankfully, there is Oscar Backstage Pass iPhone app, also compatible with the iPad and iPod touch. Oscar Backstage Pass will provide you with backstage access for only less than one dollar, $.99 to be precise.

Sources have estimated that there will be nearly 24 cameras behind the scenes, acting as your personal paparazzi, and aiming to catch some candid footage of the hottest stars.

The action wont just stay on set either, as cameras have been strategically placed on the red carpet, the Kodak Theater, and the exclusive Governors Ball.

So take your Oscar night to a new level of immersion with the iPhone Oscar apps designed to unveil more celebs than you can shake an iPhone, or iPad, at – although it will be fun trying.
