Learning a new language can be quite a challenge, whether it’s your first (children) or second (adults), especially when it comes to English, possibly one of the most nonsensical languages of them all.  However, mastering vocabulary doesn’t have to be as difficult as grammar and sentence structure understanding.  With Let’s Find It by Nate Games, both adults and children can reinforce and enhance their English vocabulary with this fun match game and its ever-evolving array of themes.

Initially, tap the introductory screen to reveal the menu.  The icons across the bottom (in order) allow you to connect to Game Center, view rankings and scores, turn the sound on or off and more games by the developer.  The Play button resides in the bubble over the pig graphic.  Tap to then select your mode, Kids or Adult.  Kids logically proceeds at a slower pace, while Adult moves quicker, so choose according to your capabilities.

Users will then choose from one of the available themes: Garden, Zoo, Bug, and Aquarium.  Users may also purchase Sports for an additional $.99.  However, one can only hope that the promised ceaseless new themes won’t cost an added $.99 every time a new one becomes available.  Tap the paintbrush to match pictures with picture; tap the ‘A’ to match pictures to words.  The goal is to match the floating items with whatever is mentioned at the bottom of the screen.  Simply drag the item to the bottom to help the monster collect everything within a given amount of time.  As he gobbles up the item, he will speak the word connected with this item, reinforcing pronunciation as well.

Though the available themes may focus on some less frequently used topics, the overall concept has a great foundation to build on, making room for new themes and, if we’re lucky, other languages.  Personally, I’d love to brush up on my Spanish vocabulary playing such a game, for you are practicing and having fun at the same time – the perfect way to learn.

Let’s Find It [iTunes Link] requires iPhone OS 3.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
