As one of the most comprehensive mobile travel guides available, Skyyer is your essential guide to Asia. Currently featuring the cities of Shanghai, Bangkok, Macau, Taipei, Chiang Mai and Sydney with more locations to come soon – Skyyer is the perfect travel companion.
Developed by Skyyer Mobile for both iPhone and iPad, Skyyer city guides feature a bright and easy-to-use interface, allowing you to navigate to the information you need. Everything is well categorized in Skyyer, under Hot Spot, Best Pick, Feature, Check-In, Transport, Itinerary and Information.
Hot Spot features shopping, dining and places of interest sorted by area – many with several high definition images that give you a real idea of what to expect at that location. Best Pick lists luxury accommodation available in that city, including distance from airport/train station, hotel contact numbers and website, cost per night as well as local attractions. The Check-In and Transport sections detail available accommodation and transfers available respectively, with options for all budgets.
The Itinerary section lists multiple suggested itineraries, with a day-by-day breakdown of things to do and see, places to eat and good local accommodation choices in particular areas. Lastly, the Information section has valuable tips on communication, language, currency as well interesting points on the history and culture of that city or country.
While a free app, each Skyyer city guide is an in-app purchase. However, the Chiang Mai (Thailand) guide is free and ‘lite’ versions of the other city guides can be viewed for free before making the decision to upgrade to the paid version for $1.99. It’s also worth noting that each guide weighs in at 100+ megabytes (30 for lite versions) and, unless you’re on an unlimited mobile data plan, you’re going to need Wi-Fi access in order to download them.
Comprehensive, good value and up-to-date – Skyyer city travel guides are definitely worth a download if you’re planning a trip to Asia.
