For those serious about golf, tracking your progress can be the best way to learn. By monitoring your improvements, handicaps and tendencies, especially in comparison to your fellow competitors, golfers of all levels can benefit from evaluating their performance during each game they play. And, with Tour•bot by James Prete, users will find a simple yet comprehensive application that tracks your games without distracting from your games.
The first time you load Tour•bot, I highly recommend beginning your experience by utilizing the Information icon at the bottom of the screen, all the way to the right. Here, users will learn how to use each and every aspect of Tour•bot in order to use the application to its fullest extent.
To start, users must first enter all the necessary information about the course they wish to play using the Courses tab. As with most apps, simply use the ‘+’ icon to begin inserting the needed facts about the course. You will need to know the Golf Club’s name, the Golf Course’s name, the Tee name, the Course Rating and the Slope of the Course. Once you have completed this step, you will then move on to adding information about your various players.
When you reach the point where you are ready to add players to your list, begin by tapping the ‘+’ icon in the upper right corner of the Players tab to begin. The Setup page will require you to hit Edit so you may fill in the player’s information. Once their profile is complete, tap Done to then assign them to any tour listed under the Tours tab. Then, when you view the Players tab, you will be able to see the players’ active tours and scores right in line with their listing.
After all the basics have been entered, users will then begin building their tournament roster under the Tours tab. Here, users can select information already entered under the Courses and Players tabs. This is also where users will enter all their scores and game data, scoring based on either total-round score or hole-by-hole. The simplified input system makes tracking scores easier because it all takes place on one page, limiting your need to navigate within the application and getting you right back into the game as fast as possible. And, while a few portions of the Information tab require Internet access in order to explain elements of Tour•bot, the basic functions of the application continue to work even when out of Internet range, meaning you will never be without on the golf course. So gather your friends, family or co-workers for a friendly game and see who comes out on top!
