iBounce -original is a new app from Michael Venn that takes advantage of the built-in accelerometer in all iOS devices. iBounce is really about as basic as a game can get – you simply shake your device as hard and fast as possible for 10 seconds, and the more times the ball bounces against the sides of the screen the higher your score.
While the concept is interesting, there isn’t much in the way of variation of game play or any added features to justify the $0.99 price tag. There is no sound or music, rudimentary visuals and only the one game mode – the 10 second shakedown.
To add one further downside – there is a risk of losing grip on your device and flinging your iPhone across the room in your attempts to get a highscore. In truth though, the gameplay just isn’t compelling enough that you will want to keep trying to make a high score.
iBounce Original is Open Feint enabled so you can check your scores against an online leaderboard from within the app.
iBounce Original is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iPhone OS 3.0 or later. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
