Perhaps you are traveling for business, or just for fun on vacation.  Maybe you have a friend or relative from a foreign country and wish you two could converse more clearly.  Or maybe you simply want to refresh your knowledge of that certain language you learned in school, or learn the basics of a new language altogether.

No matter which of these scenarios describes you, LangLearner Lessons Full by LangLearner LLC is the ideal source for all things language-related.  For only $4.99, LangLearner helps users of any level can learn (and re-learn) vital words and phrases that are key when trying to get by in another language.  No matter your native tongue, LangLearner’s flexible language pairing allows users to translate between any of the following languages: English, Spanish, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch and Greek.

With over 1000 available phrases, users have access to 32 different lessons that cover anything from the most elemental words to the most specialized phrases.  The beginning lessons feature words and phrases ideal for those trying to get by with a foreign language on vacation, such as Basics, Staying at a Hotel, Eating Out, Conversing with the Locals, Prepositions and Shopping.  Latter lessons begin to focus on more specific subjects and scenarios, such as Conducting Business, Romance, At the Train Station and Traveling with Children.

When you begin, simply choose your starting language and that with which you wish to translate.  The list of 32 lessons will follow below.  You may choose to start at the beginning or jump ahead to whichever lesson would be most beneficial to your needs.  When you begin a lesson, you will see a photo in the middle that reflects the word or phrase being taught on the current flashcard.  The phrase will appear at the top of the screen in your native language and again at the bottom of the screen in the translated language.  Next to each phrase is a speaker icon that, when tapped, will play a recording of the phrase as it should be spoken.

Use the bottom navigation bar to move through the list of words and phrases involved with the given lesson.  The ‘Previous’ and ‘Next’ buttons allow you to move back and forth between flashcards.  Tap ‘Word List’ to see all the phrases available within the lesson.

The bottom navigation bar also features a ‘Play’ button that automatically starts a run-through of every word and phrase in the lesson.  The speaker will read the phrase in your native tongue, then in the translated language, then repeat this process a second time before moving on to the next flashcard.

LangLearner takes a completely different approach to the typical translator app by providing users with an array of not only words, but also phrases that are frequently used by travelers.  By presenting straightforward lessons, users do not have to put words into a translator and hope they can piece together a coherent meaning.  And, with the simplified category breakdown, searching for the topic you need to learn on a whim is easier than any other translator revolving around manual input.  LangLearner truly makes for a great teacher and travel companion!

LangLearner Lessons Full is only open to U.S. residents and requires iPhone OS 3.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch.
