Not Enough iPads to Meet Demand?

Those who pre-ordered will still get their iPads this Saturday, but everyone who hesitated will have to pay the price of an extra week’s wait.

Pre-orders for the iPad, which were guaranteed delivery by April 3rd, have now been moved back to April 12th, and Apple has removed the option to pick up a reserved iPad at their store completely. Not to worry – if you reserved an iPad, you have until 3 p.m. Saturday to pick it up, but afterwards unclaimed iPads will be sold to customers at the front of what is sure to be a long line.

According to CNN Money, it’s not clear if this is due to higher-than-anticipated demand (a problem Barnes and Noble had with its eReader, nook), or a short supply of the device.
