Yovi Helps You Remember The Fun of Memory Games

Price: $0.99    Score: 8/10    By Michael EssanyYovi

For mobile gamers who love to test their memory while passing the time, ANVI-Soft has an app for that.

Dubbed Yovi, the new app offers a challenging experience that puts your language skills to the test right along with your memory.

In a crowded sea of word games, Yovi aims to present a new look and feel to one of the most basic but still enjoyable mobile games ever devised.

Yovi is played much the way any related game would be. The objective of the $0.99 game is to locate as many words as possible, forming them by highlighting each one letter at a time.

Although Yovi allows players to form words by moving in any direction, it remains frustrating (but in a good way) that any letter can only be used once. Once the highlighted word is spelled correctly, new letters will manifest to occupy the vacancy left in the wake of your progress.

As always, though, any good game ultimately looks easier to play than it actually is. Yovi is a prime example, as there is an excellent possibility that every player will find themselves stumped on occasion. If it’s worth the sacrifice of a few points, you can get an assist by holding the letters for a few seconds and then tapping the”replace” button.

Although Yovi lacks a striking or innovative visual presence, the game play is solid and, once engrossed, time flies as one challenge leads to another, and then another, and then another.

In the final analysis, if the true measure of a game’s value or level of fun is indicated by its addictive properties, Yovi is definitely a worthy download for your gaming library.

Yovi requires the iPhone OS 2.2.1 or later and is compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch.

The best word game i’ve ever played is Word Burst. it is similar to this game, but you get extra points for longer words, or for using rare letters. Word Burst has a huge data base of words and is highly addicting.
