Have you ever wondered what the winemakers have for an after meal drink? Or what renowned chefs drink when they’re at home? Find out with the new app Wine Picks by Sommeliers, developed by Lucidity LP. Made in cooperation with WeeklyWinePick.com, Wine Picks offers 28 different types of the best wine from all over the world, each selected on the basis of personal recommendations from restauraunt sommerliers.
Wine Picks by Sommeliers offers exceptional information for the novice and expert wine drinker alike. With more than a paragraph for each different type of bottle, you can find out the price, location, company details, as well as the history of each and every different type of wine. Included in each page is also a direct quote from the sommelier who recommended the wine, describing why they liked that particular one the best. There’s not much more that you could ever want to know about a bottle of wine than what you’ll find on that page. Along with reading, you can also copy and paste, which is very useful for that last-minute trip to the store.
Wine Picks is a great application for the avid wine drinker, but it currently lacks a search box, organization, and a wide selection of wine (currently only 28 bottles). Lucidity LP has promised 4 more wine choices a month, but out of the thousands of wine picks, it would be great if they could provide more than just 4 a month. Wine Picks by Sommeliers is all in all a very useful app, and even with the flaws, I would recommend it to anyone who really enjoys a good wine.
Wine Picks by Sommeliers requires the iPhone OS 3.0 or later and is compatible with both the iPhone and iPod Touch.
