Looking for an artistic way to share your digital photos with friends and loved ones? With Postage by RogueSheep Inc., users can chose from over 60 unique, high-quality postcard layouts that allow you to insert your special photo and pass it along in a complimentary fashion.

First, users can choose what sort of postcard layout they want for their photo.  Themes include simple, frames, cards, love, cutouts, travel, comic, announcements, organic, letters and Moms and Dads.

Once your theme is chosen, the upper right hand corner directs you to the next step, where you choose the photo you would like to insert.  You can go back to the previous step at any time by using the button in the upper left hand corner.  Users can then move the photo to fit in the space as they please by rotating, expanding and minimizing it to their liking.  The photo effect can also be changed, with various choices, such as Black & White, Sepia, Soften, etc.

Next, users can write their own message, of which they can change the font, letter size, word positioning and color.  Once that is complete, users can share their Postage creations with anyone!

Users can send their postcard via email, post to Facebook, save to their Photo Library or copy and paste the image into MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) messages.  (Copy and paste requires the iPhone OS 3.0 download.)

Postage is, in fact, a renowned, award-winning app.  Postage received an Apple Design Award in 2009 for setting “a new standard for attractiveness and ease of use in an iPhone app.”  It was also named one of “The iPhone’s distinctive dozen” by the Macworld staff and

The biggest drawback of Postage is that the app, while ideal for the camera-ready iPhone, falls flat in convenience when it comes to the iPod Touch.  Postage boasts about the ease of taking your vacation photos and immediately sending them along to family and friends in one of their creative postcard layouts via email, Facebook or MMS messages.  However, iPod Touch users can only access those photos saved in their Photo Library for lack of a camera.

Despite the minor drawback, this app is truly pleasant to the eye and makes customizing and sending photos fun and exciting.  With such clear steps to follow, one can send a beautifully innovative e-card in moments with great ease.

Postage requires iPhone OS 2.0 or later and is compatible with the iPhone and iPod Touch.
