F-MyLife is Hilarious Distraction

Price: Free    Score: 7/10    By Shaun Campbell

Fmylife.com has been providing a place to laugh at other people’s misfortune for several years.

If you’ve never been to fmylife.com – its basically a site that allows people to submit embarrassing or painful stories for all to see. Every story beings with “Today” and ends with “FML.” For example:

“Today, I had a going-away party because I am leaving the country forever. Out of the 130 people invited, 60 were a resounding “Yes! of course I will go!”. After paying $300 for everything needed at the party, 2 ended up coming. And left because nobody else was there. FML”

FML stories are catgegorized on the fmylife website under the following banners:

  • Love
  • Money
  • Kids
  • Work
  • Health
  • Sex
  • Miscellaneous

The F-MyLife app from enormego is essentially just a reader for the online service.  You can do all the things you can do on the website – read most recent FML’s, view comments, agree or disagree with FML’s, and view a random FML (shuffle).  There is a planned update to allow users to contribute FML’s from their iPhone, but as it stands you can only view them.

Sadly, the “Sex” category is missing from this app – probably due to the prudish sensibilities of Apple’s App Store requirements, but there’s a lot of value to be found here all the same. And hell, its free.

It’s a solid little package, and will be that much better when you can add your own stories direct from your iPhone.

F-MyLife requires the 2.0 software update and is compatible with both the iPhone & iPod Touch.
