Written iPhone App Review
Lamp Off is a simple, yet addictive puzzle game from developer Thumb Country. It consists of a 5×5 grid of “lamps” which you can turn on or off with a tap. Tapping a light toggles it, along with four adjacent lights. The object of the game is to put out all the lights with a minimum of moves, in a minimum of time. Once you’ve switched all of the lights out, you’ll advance to the next level.
There are 55 levels of play in total, each one slightly more difficult than the last. You can also skip ahead to more difficult levels if you find the going to slow.
Graphically, Lamp Off won’t turn any heads. The “lamps” themselves don’t really look like lamps and then there is the question of the random cartoon fairy on the left hand side of the playing grid. Couldn’t tell you why she is there. If you don’t have anything more than a passing interest in puzzle games, I’d suggest that your $2.99 would be better spent elsewhere.
Lamp Off requires the 2.0 software update and is compatible with both the iPhone and iPod Touch
