iBowl: Use With Caution!

Written iPhone Game App Review

Price: Free    Score: 6/10    By Ainsley CampbelliBowl

Everyone’s heard of the Wii gaming console. As you know, Wii gaming involves uses a sensor remote in conjunction with games designed to get you up off the couch and into the realm of virtual reality. If you’ve ever played before, you know how addictive it can be. In a recent study a Spanish doctor named a new condition “Wii-itis”, whereby people usually unaccustomed to strenuous movement, were suffering from some type of RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) after particularly intense Wii sessions. One constraint of the Wii is that you cannot take it with you when you leave the house….so fear not fellow addicts, the new SGN application iBowl is here to control cravings throughout the day.

I would not recommend iBowl for the bus or train though…You swing your arm just like you swing the Wii remote. In iBowl you you hold down a button on-screen & release it at the top of your swing to send your ball hurtling down the alley.

For those who have a competitive streak, iBowl keeps score of your strike and score prowess in a scorecard to the left of the screen, simulating a real bowling experience. These scores are then able to be forwarded to a friend to challenge them to beat your highest result.

iBowl extends the realm of mobile gaming, yet its repetitive nature gives it a short life span. iBowl will only give you 5 minutes of fun, but it comes at the right price.

And for anyone out there worried about whether their iBowling ball matches their iBowling shoes, there is a ball customization feature.
