An alarm clock is a really basic concept, and it’s great to see when it has been executed well. Best Alarm Clock + Weather and Temperature from myNewApps, Inc does what any good alarm clock should do – allow you to easily set alarms – but this app also does so much more for the $.99 asking price.
As you may have garnered from the name, Best Alarm Clock also features weather and temperature information. The app automatically finds your local conditions and updates every 30 minutes, with temperature displayed in either Celsius or Fahrenheit according to your preference.
The standard interface is an attractive luminescent blue clock on a black background, with the weather and temperature information located in the top right of the screen. It all looks very clean and professional. There are a number of different theme options also available which allow you to change the color of the LCD display, but I think that blue looks best.
To set up an alarm you simply click the “i” icon in the bottom right of the screen. You can enter in a reminder note for the alarm, i.e “pick up kids”, choose an alarm sound (there are 15 to choose from, including “Cool Saxophone” and “Thunder Clouds”) or you can select a song from your iTunes library so you can wake up to your favorite tunes. You can also change the snooze settings, adjusting from 2 minutes up to half an hour.
When the alarm goes off, two big buttons labeled “Stop” and “Snooze” appear on the screen, allowing you to quickly turn off the alarm or give yourself a few more minutes of shut-eye.
Bottom Line: For just $0.99, Best Alarm Clock + Weather and Temperature for iPhone is a great buy and will be becoming my alarm clock of choice from now on.

How can I change my location? It says I’m in some place called “North Tonawanda”, but I’m in Alabama. If I can’t change my location, I want my 99 cents back!

I have just downloaded this app, and initially, there was a place where I could select different settings (ex: battery save, 24 or 12 hour clock, sound on/off, etc). I cannot find it ANYWHERE now… can someone please help?

I’ve downloaded and later deleted this app simply because I didn’t like how it looked. Next day there was no alarm ringing on my phone… it looks like the Best Alarm cannot be fully removed from the iPhone, it still gives a text message (“Wake up! Best Alarm”) but that’s it… and this is overwriting the original iPhone alarm if it’s set at the same timing… So now I have to set my iPhone alarm to a few minutes earlier to avoid clashing with the already removed Best Alarm…
