Dance Dance Revolution. It’s a game that’s synonymous with gaming arcades and Asians with superhuman co-ordination. Now, thanks to Konami, you can swap your dancing feet for some limber fingers in this latest incarnation of the Dance Dance franchise. Dance Dance Revolution S Lite is a free taste of the (yet unreleased) full version that is to follow for the iPhone & iPod Touch.
As far as gameplay goes, DDR S Lite plays out much the same as its arcade counterpart. Arrows move up from the bottom of the screen and you have to tap the corresponding arrow-button as they reach the top of the screen. For those of you who have never ventured near a mall and have no idea what Dance Dance Revolution is – it’s a very similar concept to Tap Tap Revenge, or any of the other multitude of Guitar Hero spin-offs that are going around.
DDR S Lite features high quality production values, catchy J-Pop and funky character animations. This “Lite” version only features one song and one character – but it was only ever intended as a teaser.
We’ll post a review of the full-version when it’s released.
DanceDanceRevolution S Lite requires the 2.0 software update and is compatible with both iPhone & iPod Touch.
